Escrow London Reflections and Accomplishments for 2022
As the year comes to a close, it feels right to look back at the year and reflect on what has happened for not only the software escrow industry, but also the accomplishments we as a company have celebrated. We would like to thank all our customers for their continued support during the year, wish you all festive-filled celebrations with your family and friends over the next couple of weeks and we look forward to working with you in 2023!
Reflecting on 2022 – The Software Escrow Industry
We recently published our Software Escrow predictions blog, looking at the hot topics surrounding the IT industry in 2022 and how Software Escrow vendors can help these businesses continue on their path to ensure business continuity and mitigate against risks associated with their software applications in 2023 and beyond.
Key topics included:
- An increase in company insolvencies worldwide resulting in more software escrow agreement triggers and an increased interest in companies wanting to invest in software escrow agreements for peace of mind if the software provider were to go out of business.
- Continued growth in Cloud and SaaS uptake resulting in further education from the software escrow industry around SaaS Continuity Escrow solutions and a call from companies for software escrow vendors to provide transparent pricing for these solutions.
- Increased interest in Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) ensuring companies with added protection from cyber-attacks.
Our accomplishments in 2022
As a company, we had many celebrations during the year with the team at Escrow London continuing to work hard to ensure these successes. Here are a few of our highlights below:
At the beginning of the year, we were pleased to announce joining the partner program for GitLab, the single application for the DevOps lifecycle, as Technology Partner for Code Quality. This partnership will make software escrow and SaaS Escrow simpler for developers using GitLab as their version control system by enabling them to automate and integrate their deposits directly with Escrow London from GitLab.
We were pleased to welcome Paul Davis as Cloud Sales Development Manager back in January, helping to further expand our North American business.
In March, the Escrow London sales team met up in Florida for 3 days of onsite training and workshops with new colleagues from our North American business. A fun time was had by all with a few team building activities, one of which was an airboat trip around the Everglades which was definitely a highlight!
In May, we were delighted to join the Cloud Industry Forum and techUK as members. As a member of both organisations, we are now able to share our expertise around SaaS Continuity Software Escrow to provide confidence to larger companies seeking to adopt and embrace cloud technology within their business.
In July and August, we saw our team expand further and welcomed back Jenni Williams from maternity leave to take on the role of Customer Success Manager. Jack Davies also joined our team as new UK account manager, focusing on improving our client engagement and supporting Escrow London’s customers with continuity solutions for their critical software.
On the 26th July, Nathan Hopkins our Global Head of Sales was joined by other industry experts to participate in the Cloud Industry Forum’s webinar entitled “Cloud for SMB: Building better customer experiences.” Participants shared the essential strategies for SMB IT leaders who are utilizing the power of the cloud to deliver better customer experiences.
We were excited to be back exhibiting in person at the British Legal Technology Forum in London on 13th September. Welcomed by 1000 visitors from the world of law, legal technology and IT security, the day offered us a great opportunity to showcase our SaaS escrow solutions to help provide companies with the confidence to adopt cloud ensuring they have business continuity if something should happen to their SaaS vendor.
September also saw us celebrating as we joined and were approved as a supplier on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN). Our SaaS continuity services were also approved under the AWS Foundational Technical Review (FTR). In addition to being approved as an AWS supplier, we are also listed under the AWS Marketplace which provides AWS users additional benefits and discounts within the programme.
We were also thrilled to have once again been approved to supply our innovative escrow solutions through the latest iteration of the United Kingdom Government’s G-Cloud Framework. As a result, Escrow London can continue to offer software escrow services and SaaS escrow for AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. In addition to this, Escrow London is delighted to have been awarded a contract to be able to offer open-source audits and software bill of materials (SBOM) audits on the G-Cloud 13 framework.
Celebrating our customers in 2022
A key customer added to our portfolio this year was Synergex, a leading American software company who delivers an ever evolving, comprehensive suite of software development and deployment products, plus expert consulting and support services to help its customers keep their business-defining IT solutions robust and continuously move them into the future.
For the last 22 years, Synergex relied on a heritage software escrow vendor for their escrow requirements. As part of their renewal process, Synergex decided to explore software escrow options that include an automated deposit functionality to increase efficiencies. Following a review process, Synergex invested in a Multi Beneficiary software escrow agreement provided by Escrow London North America, resulting in many advantages including automated deposits.
One of the key deciding factors for Synergex moving over to Escrow London’s Multi Beneficiary software escrow agreement was having the ability to customize the agreement terms to ensure they worked for not only Synergex, but more importantly its customers. This agreement customization offered by Escrow London proved invaluable for Synergex and ensured a mutual agreement could be obtained quickly and effectively by all parties involved.
